Plates for fixation of ankle fractures
The Activ Ankle range is intended for the fixation of fractures, osteotomies and pseudarthroses of the distal and diaphyseal fibula, the distal tibia and for the syndesmotic repair in adults.
Activ Ankle is the solution for trauma treatment of medial malleolus and lateral malleolus as wells as diaphyseal fractures of the fibula. The plates are easy to bend and can therefore be adapted to a great number of fractures, while enabling early weight-bearing for the patient, in certain specific cases. The diversity of sizes and approaches offers a wide choice. The associated instruments allow the insertion of plates and screws via a colour code.

Activ Ankle offers 5 standard sizes of distal fibular plates for use via a lateral approach. The design of these plates, with a distal “racket” providing multiple screw holes, allows for the reduction and fixation of complex fractures. These implants can, if necessary, receive a syndesodesodesis screw.
Their distal screws are lockable, polyaxial and Ø2.8mm, while their proximal screws are Ø3.5mm, lockable or not.
Cambered areas also facilitate congruence of the plate to the bone, especially on the diaphyseal portion, which presents a great anatomical variability from one patient to another.
Activ Ankle also offers 2 sizes of narrow lateral distal fibular fracture plates for use via a lateral approach. The design of these plates allows fixation of simpler fractures and can, if required, accommodate a syndesodesis screw.
Their distal screws are lockable, polyaxial and Ø2.8mm, while their proximal screws are Ø3.5mm, lockable or not.

Activ Ankle also offers 3 sizes of plates for the treatment of distal fibular fractures using a posterolateral approach. These implants allow the fixation of oblique type B fractures (according to the Weber classification), and can receive, if necessary, a syndesodesis screw.
Their distal screws are lockable, polyaxial and Ø2.8mm, while their proximal screws are Ø3.5mm, lockable or not.
Activ Ankle offers a six-hole plate for fixation of simple fibular shaft fractures.
It accepts both locked and unlocked screws of Ø3.5 mm.
The range of medial malleolus plates includes two standard plates and a hook plate to surgical practice and anatomical variability.
The preliminary reduction of the fracture as well as the fixation of the medial malleolus may be performed by using an osteosynthesis screw. Cortical screw Ø3.5mm, cannulated screw Ø4.0mm, lag screw Ø4.0mm and compression washer are provided in the kit.

Preliminary reduction of the fracture as well as fixation of the medial malleolus can be achieved by the use of an osteosynthesis screw. Cortical screw Ø3.5 mm, cannulated screw Ø4.0 mm or return screw Ø4.0 mm are included in the kit.
A compression washer will homogenise the bone contact surface between the screw and the bone.
